AAI, A Power-Flo Technologies, a $100 million plus company has been in business for nearly 70 years. We employ over 150 people across our platform utilizing four upstate New York locations; Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, and Auburn.

We moved to our current Auburn location in early 1998; our only location at that time. Since then, we have added a a full-service 35,000 sq. ft. warehouse & counter sales office in Syracuse, a 25,000 sq. ft. Rochester branch, combining a high-tech automation training center, warehouse, and counter sales operation together under one roof, and our latest addition, our Buffalo location that combines a warehouse and counter sales operation, high tech automation training center, and an electrical apparatus repair and service center into one world class 50,000 sq. ft. facility.

We serve a market area that extends north to Massena, NY, south to Scranton, PA, east to Albany, NY and west to Buffalo, NY. We have evolved into a unique company, with the capabilities of an electrical products distributor, manufacturer, and service organization all rolled into one. Our success has been due to our employees, who have over 1,000 years of combined experience in the many business segments of the electrical industry we serve.

Electrical Product Sales

We are specialists in providing electrical controls, power distribution equipment, transformers, variable frequency drives, plant automation equipment and electric motors to industry, OEM's and contractors. We also offer traditional wholesale electrical supply items such as industrial lighting, wire, conduit, fittings, etc. Our inside sales professionals help customers select and support the electrical products we sell.  Our engineers use our training capabilities to keep our customers up to date with the newest technologies available.

Engineered Products

​

Our engineering staff provides application assistance to help customers solve automation challenges using the latest technology in programmable logic controllers (PLC's), AC drives, HMI/SCADA systems, motion control systems, open industrial networks, and energy efficient (EPACT Premium) motors. Our UL 508a panel shop has a range of capabilities to design and build industrial electrical panels leveraging these latest automation and motion technologies.
 

Apparatus Services

We operate the largest and most modern apparatus repair facilities in New York State. We are experts in the rewinding and rebuilding of AC motors and DC motors, from a special servo motor to a 5000 HP induction motor. Our two repair shifts allow us to provide emergency turnaround to our customers. Our apparatus Repair Shop equipment includes 600 KVA AC testing through 4160 volts, 300 KVA DC testing through 700 volts, 60 KVA core loss testing, 15,000 lb. precision balancing capabilities, 20,000 lb. lifting capacity and a complete in-house machine shop. We are UL certified to repair explosion proof motors. We are also a factory authorized service and warranty center for all the major motor manufacturers, including ABB, GE, Reliance, Baldor, USEM, Marathon, Siemens, Toshiba and WEG.

Skilled Field Service

Our field service personnel specialize in providing on-site service to customers' rotating equipment and electronic (AC and DC) motor-control devices. We provide:

• Vibration analysis and precision rebalance using the latest hardware and software

• Hydroelectric service, including cryogenic cleaning, on-site rewinding, and mechanical services

• Hoist and crane inspections to meet ASME/ANSI specifications

• On-site repairs to AC and DC motors

• Custom design Predictive Maintenance Programs to monitor critical equipment on a routine basis

• Thermography

• Shaft current analysis and surveys
